These little bad boys can get you in a huge mess of trouble most of the time, but we are all guilty of playing them all for the rare occasion when you flop a set. Some of us are ballsy (or stupid) enough to even stand a significant pre-flop raise for that 1 in 10 chance.

You have all been there before. You're at your regular home game, and one of your idiot friend's brings his "work friend" to the game. You know the type. Just because he has gotten 3rd place on a Party Poker multi-table tournament before, he has the audacity to come into your game thinking he can dominate. He constantly recites cheesy lines he has heard on the WPT/Rounders and gives "no-brainer", cliche advice like "you have to play tight, but aggressive."

You can't wait til' this guy gets eliminated, but before you know it the guy calls a huge bet on the turn and rivers an inside-straight and doubles up, while saying "I had to take a risk, I thought he was bluffing." Yeah right, asshole... But it all makes it worthwhile, when your in a big hand and the guy turns over his pocket aces, only to be trumped as you show your slow-played set of 3's. That "I just got finished with a session with Boggs from Shawshank" look you just created is WHY these cards have become known as the Pocket Shockers.
